Mega Man: Dual Override — 1st Trailer (Mega Man gameplay)
What did each hands-on build include?
Gamescom 2026 (Cologne)
Phil Hornshaw’s PlayStation Blog report dated 2026-08-26 describes the Cologne demo as Mega Man only. Players ran three Areas along the Twinkle Girl fairground-style route and fought Twinkle Girl at the end. Before the stage, the build let them pick one Custom Chip from options that included a shield preset, auto-charge firing, and a Rush spring variant. Override could be charged during play. That build had no lives and used in-stage checkpoints. On a PlayStation pad, Slide mapped to Circle and the chip ability to R2.
Chip presets seen at shows, and how accounts of them differ, are covered on Custom Chips.
Tokyo Game Show 2026
A Capcom notice for the show (summarised by Quest Board) describes Mega Man clearing Twinkle Girl Stages 1–3 with Override available. IGN Southeast Asia (Justin Koreis, 2026-09-19) played a later TGS build as Proto Man through the full Twinkle Girl route.
Thailand Game Show 2026
Capcom Singapore’s 2026-09-29 notice repeats the TGS demo scope for Bangkok: Mega Man, Twinkle Girl Stages 1–3, and Override, at booths B3 and B4.

Will retail match the expo builds?
OfficialAsked about lives and Game Overs, Capcom told Nintendo Everything (2026-09-04) that in the demo it wanted players to be able to go through the stage freely, while for the final game it was still considering the matter. Retail lives and Game Over rules are therefore not decided. The same interview says selectable difficulty settings, like those in Mega Man 11, were also still under consideration.
Treat every control note from Cologne as build-specific. Default bindings on Xbox, Switch, and PC are not announced. See controls and difficulty for what reporters mapped on PlayStation hardware.
